On November 25, 2024, the Center for Energy and Environmental Chemistry Jena (CEEC Jena) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a vibrant event hosted at its state-of-the-art facility in Jena, Germany. CEEC has established itself as a beacon of excellence in sustainable energy and environmental research, driving advancements in areas such as energy storage, green chemistry, and material science.

The event opened with welcoming addresses from Prof. Dr. Ulrich S. Schubert, the center’s founder and director, and distinguished guests, including Prof. Dr. Andreas Marx, President of Friedrich Schiller University Jena, and Wolfgang Tiefensee, Minister for Economy, Science, and Digital Society for Thuringia. They highlighted the center’s pivotal role in tackling global energy and environmental challenges over the past decade.

A keynote lecture by Prof. Dr. Markus Antonietti from the Max Planck Institute for Colloids and Interfaces captivated the audience with insights into “Energiewende: New Covalent and Polymeric Materials for Emerging Challenges.”

This milestone event showcased CEEC’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of science for a sustainable future and fostering collaborations across academia and industry. The center looks forward to another decade of impactful research and innovation.
