If you’re familiar with nylon stockings, you've come to the right place: Consider replacing the nitrogen atom in Nylon by an oxygen atom. You’ll result in the polyester named polycaprolactone (PCL). This polymer has been known for a long time and is particularly popular in the biomedical field because it decomposes over time through hydrolysis of its esters moieties.

But is that the end of the story? Of course not! Well, there are different types of PCL. In our recent publication, we show how the properties of PCL can be specifically altered by copolymerization of isomeric caprolactones.
